Asian Ginseng is a native herb in eastern countries such as Korea and China. Common names of the herb include: Chinese ginseng, Asiatic ginseng, and Korean ginseng. It has been used as a home remedy in alternative medicine for ages and ages. Its medicinal use has been recorded for hundreds and hundreds of years for alternative medical practices. Korean ginseng is also known as Panax ginseng.

Eleutheroccus senticosus is a different type of plant altogether even though it is also known as a type of ginseng. Its physical appearance can be likened to the body of a human with its root like composition jutting out like limbs. Like other antioxidants, ginseng is said to be good for improving heart health and help with cholesterol problems as well. It is also said to be good for type 2 diabetes, it may lower blood sugar levels, but the scientific studies for this is somewhat mixed.
