Aloe Vera medicinal value and medical practice can be traced back for thousands of years. It is of course used as a home remedy, natural cure, and alternative medicine to this day. Over 5000 years ago the herb was used in Egypt, evidence of which can be found in various carvings throughout the region. In fact, it has been speculated that it was used as a gift for dead pharaohs and came to be known as the, “plant of immortality”. Other names that it may go by include: true aloe and medicinal aloe. Aloe Vera is a well-known herbal medicine, that is said to have some medical value, though the scientific studies in this matter are (like most herbs and natural medicines) somewhat ambiguous.
