Pycnogenol (proanthocyanidins) is a product that has ingredients that originate from the pine bark of the Pinus pinaster tree, as well as peanut skins, witch hazel bark, pine needle and grape seeds. Their chemical compositions are a subgroup of the flavonoid class of polyphenols. Pycnogenol is thought to have health benefits and is thus used as a home remedy, natural medicine, homeopathic holistic medicine, naturopathic medicine, herbal dietary supplement, and alternative medicine.
